Hellan Strainers are used in all industries that require the collection and removal of particulate from fluid systems.  Listed below, are just a few of the ways Hellan provides industrial solutions to the global market.

All Hellan Manual Strainers are manufactured to ISO-9001 and meet all codes: ASME, CE/PED, Lloyds Register, Navy Mil Specs, and others for industrial and marine environments.  Manufactured in sizes ranging from 1.5 inches to 20 inches in 5 available body styles to match application specific requirements.  All type AH, TSH, DH, QH and HH models are offered in iron, steel, stainless, super duplex stainless steel and bronze.

Hellan Strainer’s line of Staples & Pfeiffer Y Strainers are fabricated in sizes ranging from 1/2″ to 10″ NPS and are available in Bronze ASTM B61 or ASTM C-958 with 316 ss or Monel screens.

Model 141-B strainers are equipped with ANSI Class 150 flanges.

Sizes 3″ and below are fabricated to Mil-S-2953

Y-strainers are used to remove solids from liquid, gas, or steam applications in small volumes.  Y-strainers can be fitted with a blow off connection on the cover, to permit cleaning the screen without removing the cover.  Staples & Pfeiffer Y-strainers are offered in 150# and 250# class.  Y-strainers can be provided in either ASTM B61 or  ASTM C958 bronze.  Strainers have been shock tested to MIL-S-901D and are fabricated to meet or exceed Mil-S-16293.

Duplex strainers are used in lines that continuously run and do not need to be shut down.  The duplex strainer uses a tapered plug design with twin baskets, and are equipped with a diverter handle to switch from one basket to the other.  The basket not in use can be removed and cleaned without interrupting the pipeline flow.  S & P duplex strainers utilized an increased wall thickness, are offered in 150# and 250# class, and have been shock tested to MIL-S-901D.

STAPLES & PFEIFFER, INC was established in 1900 by Lyman Staples and August Pfeiffer and originally located in San Francisco, California.

In January 2009, The Hellan Strainer Company acquired the product line of Staples & Pfeiffer and relocated it to their manufacturing plant in Cleveland, Ohio.

Duplex Strainers are available in sizes starting at 1″ and can be as large are 8″.  Hellan Duplex Strainers can be supplied in ANSI, DIN or Navy Drilled to MIL-F-20042D flanges.
